Sometimes it is That Simple

Alive Youth Church Weekly

Hello AYC friends,

I love gathering with all of you every Sunday night. As I like to say... it truly is the best night of the week.

Students: Thank you for continuing to show up ready for what Jesus is doing. For bringing your friends, and being a light in your homes, schools, and throughout your everyday lives.

Leaders: You will never truly know the impact that you have. But it sure is fun leading with you. Continue to put Jesus first. Thank you for your willingness to serve.

Parents: Thank you for your trust, for believing in AYC as a place to learn, meet people,  and grow closer to Jesus together.

Church and community: Thank you for supporting us! Even if you can't physically be with us each week, your prayer, insight, words of encouragement, and impact on the students and leaders do not go unnoticed.

Reminder... we meet every Sunday night at West Salem Foursquare Church at 6:30pm and wrap up around 8:45pm. Come to worship, learn about Jesus, how to live life according to His word, see your friends, make new ones, have older leaders pour into you, and have a place that is joy-filled, that puts a smile on your face.

As we enter the holiday season, AYC looks a bit different. To adjust to travel and time with family, there will be no youth on:

  •  November 30th
  • December 21st
  • December 28th

Mark your calendars, eat some turkey, wrap some presents, and don't show up to youth, cause the doors will sadly not be open. If you need anything during these weeks or anytime for that matter, don't hesitate to reach out to your leaders, the AYC Instagram (@alivewsfc), or the youth email (Youth@WSFC.org). We want to be there for you whether we gather or not!

Encouragement and Challenge for This Week

Talk to God.

Yep. Sometimes it is that simple. When life seems to get complicated or busy. When your relationship with God seems to get confusing or distant. Focus back in on your conversations with God. It does not have to look any sort of way, be any amount of time, or consist of anything specific. Talk to God. He wants to hear your voice. Make it your go-to, make it your response, your reaction, and proaction. My everyday challenge is to talk to God more than I did the day before. I'll never complete this challenge, cause you can never have enough God in your life!

----

So if this week feels heavy…
If you feel like you’re running on empty…
If you’re wondering how you’re supposed to handle everything coming at you…

Pause.
Breathe.
And remember: You don’t walk into this week alone.

Ask God to renew you.
Lean into Him.
Let His presence steady you when your emotions feel shaky.
Let His promises be louder than your worries.

You are seen.
You are loved.
You are strengthened.
And God is with you every step of the way.

Trust that He will give you what you need for this day.

----

But don't just go to God in your times of worry, stress, or when you're at your lowest.

So if this week feels light…
If you feel energized and full of joy…
If you’re excited about what’s ahead and ready to move forward…

Pause.
Breathe.
And remember: You aren't walking into this week alone.

Thank God for renewing you.
Lean into Him even in your strength.
Let His presence guide you even when your heart feels full.
Let His promises be louder than your plans.

And trust that He will keep giving you exactly what you need for each step you take.

You are blessed.
You are empowered.
You are filled with purpose.
And God is with you in every victory, every joy, every moment.

Have a great week AYC! I can't wait to see you again!

Alive Youth Church has a blog??!!

Hello students, parents, and church friends! This is a blog. I am not usually a writer or someone who reads blog posts, but bear with me because I think a blog is an amazing way to keep people informed, encouraged, and excited about what is happening at Alive Youth Church (AYC)! The vision is to post weekly for anyone interested in what happened at AYC the previous Sunday, and to have a place for thoughts, goals, stories, prayer requests, and praise reports!  Students , if you miss a Sunday, hop on here to get a recap of the night and how God is moving.  Parents , stay up to date on what your students are learning and experiencing each week.  Everyone,  check back every Tuesday for a new post, and follow our Instagram @alivewsfc for reminders and general updates! So let's get into it! Our Style "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord" -Psalm 150:6      Since our last meeting Sunday night for our church's worship night, I have be...

ALIVE Youth Church is ALIVE in Christ

I said it on Sunday, but I'll say it again. Sunday nights are my favorite nights of the week!! Two nights ago, 140 students and leaders gathered to worship, read scripture, and break into small groups to learn more about Jesus. We read Acts 9 together, the story of Saul's conversion. A powerful display of the gospel. What an honor to witness and be a part of it. Thank you students, for continuing to show up ready for what God is going to do. Thank you parents, for partnering with us. I am truly excited for what is happening in the life of our church, ministry, and city. This generation has its eyes set on things above (Colossians 3:2). If you didn't hear already... Next week time change takes effect! Starting at 6:30 ! And we are starting on time. Students get ready for AYC Late-Nite starting at 8pm every Sunday night. A time for fun, food, and friends. Come at 6:30 ready for worship, message, and community groups. Stay after youth group ends at 8pm for AYC Late-Nite!!  Ali...

The Path of Service

Alive Youth Church Weekly I hope your week is off to a great start. Just wanted to say how thankful I am for you. Seriously, it’s such a gift to do life and ministry together. I’m already counting down the days until Sunday. Can it hurry up already?! I miss getting to hang out, worship, and see what God does when we’re all together. Here's what's on my heart and mind this week for AYC: I’m constantly encouraged by our Youth Ministry. We have the best students, incredibly supportive parents, a rockstar leadership team, and one truly amazing church family. I honestly couldn’t be more thankful. I could brag on them for days. But even in the middle of all that’s going right, there’s always this question that stirs in my heart:  How can we be more like Jesus?  That’s really the heart of why we’re here, isn’t it? That question drives everything we do in ministry, in leadership, and in our personal walks with God. When I reflect on it, my mind immediately jumps to the spiritual disci...
