There is Purpose in Your Placement

Alive Youth Church Weekly,

Before you walk into school.
Before you see your friends, open that text message, or fall into your routine.
Before you let insecurity speak louder than the truth.

Pause for a second.

You are sent.
There is intention on your life. There is purpose in your placement.

You are chosen.

Not random.
Not an accident.
Not overlooked.

1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Let that sink in.
You are chosen.
You are His.
On purpose.

God hand-picked you for this place and time. Your school. Your home. Your generation. You don’t just show up at school every day. You are assigned to it. That locker. That classroom. That lunch table. None of it is random.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:14–16, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden… In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Notice, Jesus didn’t say you might be the light. He said you are.

You are the light.

You are not called to blend in.
Not called to hide your faith.
Not called to shrink back, so people feel more comfortable.

You are God’s masterpiece.

Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

You are not a mistake.
Or not enough.
Or too much to handle.

There are works prepared for you. They've been assigned to you by name. Conversations you’re meant to have. Encouragement that someone is waiting to hear from you. Acts of obedience that may seem small but echo in eternity.

We are created by God to do the good work prepared in advance for us.

And hear this clearly. Your obedience matters more than your popularity. Every time. In fact, your obedience to God matters more than most things. Don't let the importance of obedience to God shrink in your life, or be overshadowed by other things.

You are bold
You are empowered.

2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.”

You are not timid.
You are not alone or powerless.

The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you. That means when you walk into that building, you don’t walk in empty handed. You walk in filled. That means wherever you go, you go with the spirit of the living God.

So lift your head a little higher today. Not in pride. But in confidence. The kind that comes from knowing who you belong to.

You are chosen.
You are sent.
And your presence there matters.

This generation needs spirit-filled, bold, scripturally literate, and obedient Christ followers.
I believe that is YOU. You are chosen.

Alive Youth Church, You are chosen by God, empowered by Him, and a light to the world. You are on a mission designed by God.

This generation needs you, your school needs you, your home needs you, this world needs the light.

Go in confidence.

I will see you Sunday night, the best night of the week, at 6:30pm for AYC. We love you and are praying for you each day! Never hesitate to reach out to a leader, via email (Youth@WSFC.org), or through the AYC Instagram (@AliveWSFC) if you need anything at all. We would love to hear from you!

The vision is to post weekly for anyone interested in what happened at AYC the previous Sunday, and to have a place for thoughts, goals, stories, prayer requests, and praise reports!  Students , if you miss a Sunday, hop on here to get a recap of the night and how God is moving.  Parents , stay up to date on what your students are learning and experiencing each week.  Everyone,  check back every Tuesday for a new post, and follow our Instagram @alivewsfc for reminders and general updates! ALIVE Youth Church is ALIVE in Christ

I said it on Sunday, but I'll say it again. Sunday nights are my favorite nights of the week!! Two nights ago, 140 students and leaders gathered to worship, read scripture, and break into small groups to learn more about Jesus. We read Acts 9 together, the story of Saul's conversion. A powerful display of the gospel. What an honor to witness and be a part of it. Thank you students, for continuing to show up ready for what God is going to do. Thank you parents, for partnering with us. I am truly excited for what is happening in the life of our church, ministry, and city. This generation has its eyes set on things above (Colossians 3:2). If you didn't hear already... Next week time change takes effect! Starting at 6:30 ! And we are starting on time. Students get ready for AYC Late-Nite starting at 8pm every Sunday night. A time for fun, food, and friends. Come at 6:30 ready for worship, message, and community groups. Stay after youth group ends at 8pm for AYC Late-Nite!!  Ali...

My favorite verse in the Bible!?

ALIVE YOUTH CHURCH WEEKLY MARK YOUR CALENDARS OCTOBER 26TH = COSTUME PARTY!!!! If you missed AYC this Sunday night, just know: we laughed hard, worshiped even harder, and left with a smile on our faces, our hearts challenged and ready for the week to come. Oh, how great is our God! How great is He, that He wants a relationship with you and me, allowing us to have a close and intimate relationship with our Savior! Between the snacks, games, and exciting worship, we zoomed in on a specific verse in Acts 4. One small verse with a big, powerful message.  “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and took note that  these men had been with Jesus .” — Acts 4:13 (NIV) One of my all-time favorite verses in the bible. I want to be known as someone who has been with Jesus . Marked by Him. That my presence, words, actions, and energy would all point towards Jesus alive in me. It takes courage to live for...
